Study Abroad UK V UKBA

Study Abroad UK V UKBA

Study Abroad UK has been challenging the UKBA about exchange student immigration for years. In 2008 the UK government introduced a new system and along with this UK government omitted the special immigration concession for young people coming to the UK as exchange students. An exchange student is a young person usually aged between 16-18 arriving in the UK to experience life and education. Exchange students are not necessarily coming to the UK for formal studies but as a cultural visitor exercise. Exchange students were allowed to enter Britain for up to 10 months. And now, if they are visa or non visa nationals they are not. We are pleading with ministers to put this concession back. Micheal Gove said that putting the concession back will mean there will be an abuse of the education facility. We disagree, what use is an A level or GCSE in Thailand? Its as useful as a Mau 6 (Thai equivalent)in the UK. The only use for an A level is to attend a UK university and we all know it generates valuable income to our economy. We are fighting back.
